Summer is here and that means many things including fun, heat, and lots of sun!
Are you one to protect your skin from the sun? Whether you have fair or dark skin, we are all guilty of forgetting sunscreen or laying on the beach unprotected from UV rays.
One of the most important things you can do this summer is to protect your skin and help to prevent skin cancer.
Protecting your skin today may help prevent skin cancer later in life.
Did you know that most skin cancer appears after age 50, but skin damage from the sun can start during childhood? We came across this article from healthfinder.gov that offer tips on how to protect yourself from skin cancer:
Stay in the shade as much as possible between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Use sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher.
Cover up with long sleeves, long pants or a long skirt, a hat, and sunglasses.
Avoid indoor tanning.
Check your skin for changes regularly.
